Jennifer Sawicki is a mixed media artist and photographer located in Upstate NY. Working as a professional wedding photographer for more than 20 years, Jen has long maintained a personal practice in macro nature photography, finding inspiration in the intricate details and quiet beauty of the natural world.

Jen began her journey as an intuitive/visionary artist after a series of inexplicable synchronicities in 2020, and further expanded her practice through studies in the Mischtechnik (Mische Technique). As of today, in addition to continuing her long-time practice in macro photography, Jen has shifted her painting practice to focus on her most-loved medium of watercolor while also incorporating a variety of mixed media into her work.

Nature remains the foundation of her artistic practice, inspiring both her subject matter and materials. Whenever possible, she works with natural and organic elements, allowing the forms, textures, and rhythms of the natural world to shape each piece. Alongside the exploration of the elements of nature, Jen incorporates techniques that evoke a dreamlike, liminal quality within her work. Overlapping and fused imagery, double exposures, and layered materials allow her to create compositions in which forms appear to drift between states of clarity and dissolution.

The merging of imagery and mediums reflects Jen’s fascination with what she perceives as the delicate veil between dimensions and time. Through these layered compositions, materials, and realities are brought into conversation, creating spaces where the boundaries between the tangible and intangible, the past and present, and one realm of existence and another begin to blur.
